Bradgate Park Trademark Logo

At Bradgate Park, we are committed to ensuring that all members of the community can enjoy the beauty of Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood. While the park's natural terrain and woodlands mean some areas may not be fully accessible, the Bradgate Park Trust strives to extend access as much as reasonably possible.

To help you plan your visit, we have partnered with AccessAble, whose surveyors have assessed our venue to create a Detailed Access Guide. This guide provides comprehensive information about our facilities, enabling visitors to make informed decisions before arriving.

Located at the entrance to our Newtown Linford car park is our Changing Places. For more details on how to access this space, please view the detailed access guide below.

We hope the following information and resources will assist you in making the most of your visit.

Drive Through Scheme

Bradgate Park generally does not permit visitor vehicles to enter the park. However, the Trust offers a special concessionary scheme for Blue Badge holders and individuals who are unable to walk long distances. This scheme allows eligible visitors to drive through the Park, entering via Hallgates Car Park (LE7 7HQ).

Current Drive Through Dates for 2026:

    • Thursday 26th March
    • Thursday 23rd April
    • Thursday 21st May
    • Thursday 25th June
    • Thursday 2nd July

    Important Information:

    • Booking is required, and each vehicle may stay in the park for a maximum of 90 minutes.
    • Two time slots are available:
      • 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
      • 2:45 PM - 4:15 PM
    • The designated route allows vehicles to travel from Hallgates Car Park to Memorial Wood, Deer Barn Café, and the Visitor Centre before returning to Hallgates Car Park. Parking for your visit will be by the Deer Barn Cafe.

    Fees:

    • Car entry: £5
    • Minibus entry: £15
    • Payment can be made over the phone at the time of booking.

Please note that the Drive Through Scheme does not operate during school holidays.

    How to Book:

To reserve your spot or for further information, please contact the Estate Office at 0116 236 2713.

    Off-Road Mobility Scooter

We are pleased to offer two ‘Tramper’ off-road mobility scooters for hire at Bradgate Park. A Tramper is a robust, all-terrain mobility scooter specifically designed to provide individuals with limited mobility access to the countryside. With durable wheels, a strong chassis, and powerful motors, it can easily handle rough terrain such as mud, grass, gravel, and steep slopes, making it perfect for exploring rural paths, woodlands, and open grassland.

    How to Book

To book a Tramper, please contact the Estate Office at 0116 236 2713. Advanced booking is required, as Trampers are not available for last-minute requests.

    • Collection Point: Newtown Linford Car Park
    • Collection Times:
      • Weekdays: 10:30 AM or 2:00 PM
      • Saturdays: 10:30 AM (no afternoon availability)
    • Unavailable: Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and Bank Holidays

    Donation

To help us maintain the Trampers, we kindly request a small donation of £5. This can be paid over the phone when booking or in cash to the Warden on the day of your rental.

    Additional Information

When booked, a Park Warden will deliver the Tramper to Newtown Linford car park. First-time users will receive a short induction to ensure safe and confident use.

During the winter season (November to March), please ensure the Tramper is returned by 3:00 PM as the park closes earlier.

The Leat at Bradgate Park Walk

It’s the early 16th century. How can you get water to your new house at Bradgate, built well above the River Lin? Our walk through the park will explore the answer (which appears to flow uphill) and also some of the other ways water was used in the park. An opportunity for a ‘walk in the park’ whilst learning about one of its little-known features.
