Bradgate Park Venison

Bradgate Park is the only surviving medieval deer park in Leicestershire. The deer live freely within the Park, grazing on unfertilised pasture and are not treated with veterinary drugs, making them essentially wild animals in a protected environment.

To protect the long-term health of the herd and the Park’s landscape, a carefully managed annual cull is carried out by our own trained and experienced staff. All preparation takes place on site, meeting the highest standards of animal welfare and food hygiene.

Bradgate Park venison is a delicious, versatile and naturally low-fat meat. When you buy our venison, you are supporting sustainable land management and the work of the Bradgate Park Trust.

A range of cuts is available, including joints, steaks, diced meat, sausages and burgers (gluten-free options available subject to availability). Whole carcasses can also be supplied to butchers and caterers by arrangement.

Seasoned Firewood Logs

Our seasoned hardwood logs are available as a by-product of essential woodland management across the Estate’s sustainably managed woodlands. All firewood is processed and seasoned on site, making it ideal for use in open fires and wood-burning stoves.

The logs are cut to fit most wood-burning stoves and have an average moisture content of 20% or less. We take great care to ensure our seasoned logs consistently meet this standard.

Delivery is carried out by our own team. Please note that logs are delivered loose, rather than in bags.

£240.00 for approx 2 cubic meters (equivalent to 2 builders' bags)

FREE delivery 0 - 4.9 miles
Between 5 – 10 miles, the charge is £5
Over 10 miles, the charge is £10

Kindling is priced at £7 per net bag to accompany logs for delivery. This can only be ordered with logs.

NOTE: To comply with Government regulations, the Trust now only sells firewood in loads of 2 cubic metres or more. Each load is tested and supplied with an advice note about the moisture content.

Bradgate Park BBQ Charcoal - £8.50 per bag CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK

Made from wood harvested during our woodland management at Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood, our barbecue charcoal is produced on-site using a traditional kiln.

It uses sustainably managed, small-diameter hardwoods and contains no added chemicals, just natural, high-quality charcoal.

Please note BBQ's CAN NOT be used on site; our Bradgate Park charcoal is for private use, off-site.

Charcoal is available to purchase from our Visitor Centre and Cafe. For bulk orders, please call the Estate Office.

Antlers For Sale

Antlers are available for purchase as a natural by-product of the estate management.

Sets of antlers are priced between £150 and £350, depending on size. Individual antlers are also available, with prices starting from £45.

Over 830 acres, steeped in history, teeming with wonderful wildlife, the UK's oldest fossils, 550 red and fallow deer and the childhood home of Lady Jane Grey. Rich in heritage, wildlife and amazing landscapes, Bradgate Park is Leicestershire's favourite day out with two tearoom and free-to-visit Visitor Centre.

Visit Swithland Wood

Swithland Wood is an attractive and atmospheric area of Ancient Woodland, covering 170 acres. Rich in history and wildlife, it is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The Wood is an important habitat for a wide range of plant and animal species, with rocky outcrops and old quarries.

For regular visitors a car park annual parking permit offers a low-cost option to pay and display parking when Bradgate Park and Swithland Wood.
