Old John Tower Walk Departure from: The green metal pole gate leading into the wood at Hunts Hill (Old John) Car Park. Postcode: LE6 0AH. Duration: approx. 2.5hrs - 3hrs. This unique walk offers a rare opportunity to see inside the Tower and enjoy the amazing panoramic views of Leicestershire, including Cropston Reservoir, Charnwood Forest and the Leicester skyline on a clear day. Find out about the windmill that previously stood on the hill, the legends associated with it and also the racecourse all around the base of the hill. See rolling open heathland, ancient oak trees and lots of deer, particularly fallow deer in the upper areas. This walk will involve walking over steep, rocky slopes and uneven and potentially weather-affected ground It will take place irrespective of weather conditions. Appropriate clothing and footwear are therefore recommended. A very popular walk, with spaces limited to just 20 people. Car Parking charges apply and are not included in the ticket price.
